Subliminal Films has acquired U.S. rights to Finnish hillbilly thriller TUFTLAND. The flick marks the feature film debut from genre director Roope Olenius. It tells the story of headstrong textile student named Irina who accepts a summer job offer from the isolated and self-sufficient village of Kyrsya. After arriving, Irina soon realizes the people who inhabit the small town aren’t as harmless as they may seem. Head on down below to have a look at the official trailer.
The film stars Veera W. Vilo, Saara Elina and Miikka J. Anttila. The story was adapted by Olenius from the stage play, Kyrsyä, by Neea Viitamäki. The film was shot on location in the Finnish backwoods

TUFTLAND will be in limited theaters and on VOD March 1st 2019.
