Update On Stephen King's IT Remake Within!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

It has been a while now since the announcement was made that yet another adaptation of Stephen King's IT was to be made. The project was first aligned with Warner Bros. but then moved over to New Line. Then came the news that director Cary Fukunaga, who was previously set to direct, officially dropped out of the planned two film project leaving the future of the IT remake in question.

The decision was made by producers Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg to bring in MAMA director Andy Muschietti to fill the void.

Not long ago we learned that the new Pennywise was found in Bill Skarsgard, followed by the addition of Owen Teague who will be playing one of the bullies.

We have now learned that Nicholas Hamilton has officially joined in on the fun.

Hamilton will take on the role of Henry Bowers, the lead bully who was portrayed by Jarred Blancard in the 1990 TV movie version.

Besides Hamilton and Teague, the cast of kids thus far includes Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

Here is a picture of "The Losers Club" all together, posted on Instagram by Wolfhard.

The project is still planned to be two separate films. One point of view being from the kids and the other film being that of the adults. Producer Roy Lee previously stated that an R-rating was to be the goal.

The book was previously adapted by Tommy Lee Wallace as a 1990 two part, three hour event miniseries on ABC, starring Tim Curry as Pennywise.

Original Synopsis for IT:

"It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real… They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But none of them can withstand the force that has drawn them back to Derry to face the nightmare without an end, and the evil without a name."

Remember to mark September 8th, 2017 on your calendar as this is the official release date for Part 1 of the new adaptation of Stephen King's IT.
