Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.
HALLOWEEN fans are on fire and for good reason as we are fresh off of the heels of the announcement from John Carpenter that the new HALLOWEEN film is moving forward and in a solid direction, announcing a date of release as well as David Gordon Green and Danny McBride joining the project.
Green will direct from a screenplay written by McBride and Green (PINEAPPLE EXPRESS). The duo will also executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner. Both have experience with the Horror genre as Green worked on a possible SUSPIRIA remake for a while and McBride worked on the upcoming ALIEN: COVENANT.
Danny McBride spoke with CinemaBlend and revealed about the new HALLOWEEN film:
"You know, it's not a remake. It's actually, it's gonna continue the story of Michael Myers in a really grounded way. And for our mythology, we're focusing mainly in the first two movies and what that sets up and then where the story can go from there."
McBride went on to say that the duo have the desire to channel the "simplicity and efficiency" of the original HALLOWEEN film.
Director David Gordon Green said:
"John Carpenter’s Halloween was a monumental Horror film experience for me and millions of film fans. It’s an honor to be working with this creative team to carve a new path in the tale of Michael Myers."
"David and I are thrilled to step outside of our comedic collaborations and dive into a dark and vicious Horror. Nobody will be laughing."
HALLOWEEN producer Malek Akkad said:
"It’s been a long journey with many starts and stops, but I can honestly say that I’ve never been more excited than by the team that we have assembled for the new ‘Halloween’. I truly feel this film will thrill fans, old and new, as well as being a high point in this legendary franchise."
Blumhouse, Miramax, and Trancas International Films are teaming together to bring us the next HALLOWEEN film. John Carpenter himself will be executive producing the project, and might possibly score it as well. Malek Akkad will be producing this new project.
The new HALLOWEEN film is slated for theatrical release on October 19, 2018.
