The 2014 monster film GODZILLA was highly successful grossing $529 million worldwide. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the effort marked the 30th film within the overall franchise.

It wasn't that long ago that we learned of Millie Bobby Brown, aka Eleven from STRANGER THINGS, joining the cast of the upcoming sequel titled GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS.

We have now learned that Horror Queen Vera Farmiga has officially joined the cast and will play the mother of Millie Bobby Brown's character in the film.

Farmiga is known for her Horror contributions as Lorraine Warren in THE CONJURING films, as well as her portrayal of Norma Bates/Mother on A&E's BATES MOTEL.

With filming set to begin during June in Atlanta Georgia, Michael Dougherty will be directing and he and Zach Shields are writing the script for the film. The duo previously teamed together for KRAMPUS, and Dougherty also wrote and directed TRICK 'R TREAT.

KONG: SKULL ISLAND will be coming to theaters on March 10, 2017, eventually building up to GODZILLA VS. KONG on May 29, 2020. If things run smoothly, the plan is to have other famous Kaiju incorporated into the franchise.

GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS has a current release date of March 22, 2019. We will continue to bring you more on the film as we hear it.
