Update On THE STRANGERS 2!

Back in 2008, the home invasion Horror film THE STRANGERS hit the scene and caused quite the impact among the Horror community. With great success, a sequel was quickly being prepared to launch back in 2009 with Laurent Briet directing a screenplay written by Bryan Bertino. As you all know that idea never came into fruition.

With THE STRANGERS 2 gearing up to move forward and casting said to be underway, the plan is for cameras to begin rolling this summer.

The director of the original THE STRANGERS Bryan Bertino, recently spoke with D-C about the upcoming THE STRANGERS 2 saying:

“I’m thrilled that it seems like finally now people are behind the movie that are interested in making it. I was thrilled to see it out of Relativity’s hands and into a group of producers’ hands that are actually excited about making it. It’s very crazy to think that after all of these years they’re going to make a sequel, but I liked the script that I wrote when I wrote it eight years ago.

It’s a cool story, and I think it will have an opportunity to be an exciting movie. So I was really thrilled and excited to see, after so many false starts over the years, that it was in the hands of someone who was actually interested in doing something with it; and I really like some of the movies they’ve made in the last few months.

I was saying to someone the other day that I really liked I Am a Serial Killer so I was excited to see these producers are going to be involved in the film; it was exciting for me.”

Johannes Roberts will be directing THE STRANGERS movie with Bryan Bertino and Ben Ketai are shaping the script. Producing the film are Mark Lane & James Harris along with Wayne Marc Godfrey and Robert Jones, in association with Relativity Media. Handling the international sales at the European Film Market in Berlin will be BLOOM.

Official synopsis:

"A family whose road trip takes a turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park and after the power goes out they decide to hunker down for the night in a borrowed trailer. Under the cover of darkness three familiar masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test their every limit."
