A Second Reboot For A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Still In The Works?

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

Back in 2010 Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema teamed together to bring us the Platinum Dunes produced reboot of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. The film was directed by Samuel Bayer and starred Jackie Earl Haley as Freddy Krueger. Needless to say, the majority of fans were not impressed with the final product.

Then almost two years ago, there were reports that New Line Cinema was planning on taking A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and giving it yet another reboot, going back to the drawing board, working to create a remake worthy of the original.

At that time, ORPHAN scribe David Leslie Johnson was given the task of writing a script for the project with Toby Emmerich, Walter Hamada, and Dave Neustadter overseeing for New Line. Johnson was just recently hired to pen the script for THE CONJURING 3.

With all that is going on, will we ever see yet another reboot for A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET? According to B-D:

“the David Leslie Johnson-penned A Nightmare On Elm Street reboot is very much still in the works.”

It will certainly be interesting to see where this project goes, especially since IT, and THE CONJURING universe seems to be the top priority at the moment.

Regardless of anything, we will continue to keep you updated as we hear more on this story.
