Blumhouse’s HALLOWEEN Trailer Shown At Cinemacon - Spoilers Within!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

It is about six months until the world will be seeing Jamie Lee Curtis return to the screen as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Master of Horror John Carpenter is executive producing and serving as creative consultant on this film, as well as providing the score for the film. Carpenter joings forces with cinema’s current leading producer of Horror, Jason Blum. Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.

The trailer for Blumhouse’s HALLOWEEN was shown at CinemaCon and we have some spoiler news about it courtesy of Arrow In The Head & Eric Vespe from Ain’t It Cool News.

AITH posted the following about the new HALLOWEEN trailer:

“Its old school meets new school with Laurie at the center of it, who has turned into a warrior...it’s gonna scare the living shit out of all of you! - Jamie Lee Curtis

Excuse the hyperbole, but #Halloween looks amazing. Looks like the Halloween sequel we’ve been waiting for after so many mediocre attempts to recapture the spirit of the original. Laurie Strode has gone Sarah Connor and 40 years later the sequel we deserved is here.

There’s a bunch of cool moments in the Halloween trailer, but I don’t want to ruin the beats for you by spoiling them. Rest assured, it’s thrilling, scary and will reignite your Halloween spirit.”

Eric Vespe from AICN also viewed the trailer replying:

“First footage of Halloween looks great. New story is that after he was shot by Loomis Michael was recommitted and Laurie has been preparing in case he ever breaks out.

Some teenagers were talking amongst each other. "Wasn't it her brother that killed all those people?" "It wasn't her brother, that's something people made up." So, yeah. Bye-bye sequel storylines!

There was a shot of Myers, post break-out, tormenting a girl in a bathroom stall. His hand goes over the door and drops a dozen bloody teeth on the floor. They're not messing around with this one. It's great to see the mask back in action.

Also Laurie is never once shown as scared in the footage we saw. She's a woman on a mission, just as much a hunter as Michael. Love that take.

Laurie: “I prayed every night that Michael would escape.”

Cop: “Why would you do that?”

Laurie: “So I could kill him.”

The new HALLOWEEN will be produced by Malek Akkad, whose Trancas International Films has produced the HALLOWEEN series since its inception. Green and McBride will executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner.

Judy Greer will play Strode’s daughter Karen, with actress Andi Matichak in line to play the granddaughter of Laurie Strode named Allyson. As mentioned above, the man that played Michael Myers/The Shape in the original film, Nick Castle, will be reprising the role in the new HALLOWEEN sequel. Rob Niter and Will Patton will play officers of the law, and Rhian Rees is said to play a character in the movie named Dana.

Other cast members include Virginia Gardner, Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid as Allyson's classmates. Diva Tyler will play a caretaker.

The new HALLOWEEN film is set to hit theaters on October 19, 2018.
