Jason Goes to hell

So im currently watching the movie and in one part where steve goes to jescas moms house he sees the necronamican and i never saw that part b4. is this where the rumour of freddy vs jason vs ash came along? ( due to the end of the movie where freddys glove grabbed jasons mask )

to be honest, from everything I have ever read, it is just an homage to the Evil Dead films. There are other things thrown into the film as little winks towards other horror films that the director was a fan of...Of course, it did help play into the whole supernatural angle of the film and the body hopping, etc...

I think seeing the Necronomicon was about the best part of this movie. lol

supposedly one of the screen writers jay huguely was a huge evil dead fan and wanted to hint that jason was a deadite, its the main story behind the whole ash vs. freddy vs jason comic book series. whether they were ever gonna turn it into a movie im not sure.

it was such a hidden easter egg in the movie, something only us hardcore fans probably got which makes it cool.
