H2O mask confusion.

so, i have been wondering about the H2O mask that are out there and what is correct, so i thought what better place to ask than here.

the first two pics are of my H2O masks or what i believe to be H2O masks. what i heard is that KNB made the first one and for what ever reason they changed it to the second one and i got this one from smith's grove sanitarium with the neck extention. so i thought i was all set and of course the other one i see all the time (SSN & H3O make this veron) and it keeps bothering me is the 3rd pic. this one i do not own but i think is sweet. is there a third mask, is this just someone's concept of the H2O mask, was there three masks, do i have this all wrong? someone please clarify this for me, i'm confused.

The first mask was used for principle filming but halfway through they decided they didn't like it. So they reshot closeups with the second mask (with the extenon). The third mask is the same as the second, just without a neck extenon (and by a different masker). That's all it is. The second mask is how an H20 should be if you want a screen accurate appearance when wearing it. Which makes me wonder why only one maker made an H20 with the extenon.

They used the following masks in h20

KNBEFX h20 mask Stan WInston H20 mask Don Post the mask cgi mask

MMI H6/h20 mask Full neck

My favorite out of the bunch is the h20v1 mask.

Yea, I'd like to see this supposed DP mask they used. The V1 resembles the DP but I didn't think they used one.

I think what Scott ment was that they may have shot a scene or two with the dp mask on and then went back and redid the scenes with another mask instead... Seems as though they were having trouble dedeing on a mask... To me that's just lack of preperation for the film... The mask should have been deded on and tested to see rather or not they liked it before shooting. Not only do they waste time and money with production, but it also fucks with the character. I feel if he looks one way in one shot, and then differant in another, that just takes away from the character.

this was the original mask when principle photography started not a dp in anyway shape or form

if you recognize this scene you should this used the cgi coverup

I'll be damned... That's why his mask was in CGI for that scene... Could never figure out why in the hell they would fuck with CGI on his mask... Well thats a good reason I sopose for doing do, although if I would have been directing that movie, I would have went back and reshot that scene... OR left that scene alone... I'd rather have a differant mask then a CGI one... That's just my personal opinion... I'm not much of a fan for CGI unless it is called for...

Well that answers a question I've longed wondered...

I didn't think there was a DP used. The V1 could ealy be mistaken for one I suppose. Thanks for those caps Bisco. Helps me compare my new S.G. H20.

The DP-looking one is the V1.
