First Horror Movie??

From what you can remember...what was one of the very first Horror movies you remembering seeing as a kid? About how old were you?

Me... I remember seeing Friday the 13th late one summer night when I couldn't sleep.

During the summer I was always able to stay up late and sleep on the couch watching movies.

I was about 6 yrs old and boy did I love it!

It scared the hell out of me because some of the windows were open and I swore I was hearing noises outde but I loved it!

I don't know how I remember this but for some reason I do and nce then I have loved Horror ever nce! lol

I remember seeing A Nightmare On Elm Street around the same exact time and I fell in love with it! Freddy scared me to no end but I couldn't help but watch.

I just went through some old home videos and on that tape was me @ 6 years old on Christmas Day getting the Nightmare On Elm Street board game! IT WAS AWESOME!

Damn... I wonder where that board game is now??

WOW, great question, I love these Still, this is an easy one, the first horror film I ever saw was Friday the 13th prt 4

, I was 4 years old. Its been a kinda odd ball tradition in my family to take the the 4 and 5 years old to there first horror film in the theaters. It (of course scares the shit out of them

), but after words nothing much else does

? Like I said its an odd tradition and I think my Grandpa started it, regardless its effective Ill give him that

first one i can remember would have to be Friday the 13th VII. i think i was 6 or 7. My older brother was watching it on a halloween night horror marathon or something, so i watched it too. God, it scared the hell out of me back then.lol i remember i was just bawling i was so scared. But the thing that snapped me out of it was when jason loses his mask my brother goes" hey, look, its ok. See he's just a pirate!"(on account of his misng eye looking sort of like an eyepatch in 7)I just laughed for the rest of the movie. ...good times.

No idea what my all time first was, I was too young to remember probably. I wouldn't be surprised if it were something like Gremlins. But the first I consciously remember and that got me into the genre was It. I was 3 when that bad boy hit and my dad was stupidly watching it and let me t with him. My mother was furious because I had nightmares for weeks...but then the obseson began.

I am not sure what one it was but I do remember all of Kings movies were very big in my home especially Salem's Lot and some of them and didn't see Cujo forever as my mother didn't want me to be afraid of dogs. Town That dreaded Sundown, Friday The 13th and of course The Burning were some of the others I remember being the firsts. Thanks Mom for getting me into this crazy genre I love so much.

I'm not sure exactly how old I was (would've had to have been less than 4 or 5) when I saw the original Lon Chaney Wolfman on late-night TV.

It totally ruled.

Of course being born on Halloween, many of my earliest memories revolve around costumes and horror on TV but this is the only one I know for sure and remember.

Been hooked ever nce

Man, I was so young I honestly can't remember! However, I will tell you the first horror film that had a really strong effect on me, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974).

When I was 2ish I watched Child's Play and Creepshow. Not a good idea to see that movie at 2 and own a Corky and Cricket.

the first horror i remember watching was Scream when i was about 3 or 4.

we had it on video, and me and my brother loved it and weren't scared at all... i remember we showed it to my coun who was a few years older, and she ran out of the room screaming somewhere in the scenes with Casey.
