JOHN DIES AT THE END, Catchy Title No?

In 2007 I read a novel written by man named David Wong. Boldly titled John Dies At The End, it was probably one of the best pieces of literature I will have read in my lifetime. It follows two college dropouts and unlikely heroes, John and Dave, that are introduced to a drug called "Soy Sauce" and have to come to terms with the unusual de effects--including but not limited to strange phone calls, unexplainable paranormal phenomena, and meat monsters. An instant cult clasc.About the time I finished the book I heard rumors of film rights being sold, and in this case, the rumors thankfully proved true. Purchased by Don Coscarelli (writer, director, and producer of Phantasm and Bubba Ho-Tep) filming went underway in late 2010 With Paul Giamatti attached as an executive producer as well as the character Arnie Blondestone; the reporter that Dave speaks with in the book. Other cast members const of Chase Williamson as David Wong, Rob Mayes as John, Fabianne Therese as Amy, and Clancy Brown as Dr. Albert Macroni.

Now, it's been reported that filming has wrapped and is currently in post-production with a tentative 2012 release date. you can listen to what Paul Giamatti had to say about producing the film here:
