Lionsgate to Distribute THE CABIN IN THE WOODS

The long awaited release of the horror/thriller entitled; The Cabin in the Woods may be here sooner then you think. Deadline has reported that Lionsgate is making a deal with MGM which will allow it to distribute the posble fanboy favorite. Originally the "Cabin" was set to be released in 3D on October, 29, 2009 but MGM had to pull the plug because of the strangling debt load the company was facing. The movie has remained on the shelf ever nce.

Cloverfield writer Drew Goddard directed the film and co-wrote it with Joss Whedon. The film's cast includes Chris Hemsworth, who will also be starring in perhaps the BIGGEST movie of the summer, THOR. As of now there is no actually word regarding when Lionsgate will release this film, but October sounds to me like the best bet.
