Original SCREAM Extended Scenes - Is More Blood Better?

Below are a few extended videos from the original cut of the first "Scream" film. These scenes were ordered to by "trimmed down" by the MPAA back when "Scream" was getting rated in 1996. As you can observe from the videos there were several frames lifted out of a few death scenes in the final cut of the film. You be the judge. Is more blood better?

The one I think they should have kept in for a more affective kill should be the camera man's death. That scene plays way more affective if you indulge for a few more seconds on the blood squirting from his neck. Barrymore's death scene doesn't really make much of a difference. I think it was still affective in the final cut of the film. The final scene with Stu and Billy is a lot more gruesome. I would probably keep the blood on the floor next to the dad. That was better imagery to me, but again the scene is still greatly affective.

Steve's death was cool looking with his stomach sliding down, Caseys death didn't seem much different, nor did Tatums death but I did like the blood on the floor next to d's dad. Interesting cuts.

Nice post, man. I couldnt really see any difference though. Its been a while nce I saw SCREAM but I remember Stevs entrails fallin out on our (UK) veron. Id always thought it was cut in the UK too, but I guess not.

Even though the film is perfect without those few extra seconds, this is the creators' original veron and I think those extra seconds should be restored into the film.

The scene with Casey and Steve are better in my opinion and the blood on the floor next to d's Dad is a better touch....hopefully we will get these on an extended cut one day....
