New DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK Poster Gets With "The Times"

The New York Times revealed some new eye candy from Guillermo del Toro's latest reincarnation of the "made for tv" movie, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. Thanks to technology, and our buds over at Fangoria, the image has been "magically" transferred from the pages of the Times onto your screen. If a better quality image surfaces, I'll post it here, but for now, this one will have to do.

Plot Synops: A young girl named Sally (Bailee Madison) is abandoned by her mother, so she moves in with her dad, Alex (Guy Pearce) and his girlfriend Kim (Katie Holmes). One day Sally becomes bored and starts to explore around, she finds a hidden basement with a sealed fireplace in the house which her father is renovating. She becomes drawn towards the fireplace, as she listens closely she can hear little faint whispers that beg her to open it. These voices promise to befriend Sally who often alienates herself from others. Her dad stops her before she can open the door completely, but these small demon-like creatures that were inde escape. They begin to torment Sally, but for some reason only when it's dark.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark will be playing at theaters near you on August 26, 2011.
