Where, Oh Where is our FRIDAY THE 13th TV Marathon?

Happy Friday the 13th Bidite Nation A tradition that many horror fans share is that of a movie marathon. What can also be seen as an endurance test can be clasfied as a mental test as well. Being able to watch these Friday films back to back to back to back can be a grueling task. It’s eaer when you have a group of friends with you to endure this, but it is even eaer to do when you have friends AND the marathon is on TV. Despite the gore is edited out but you just get more meaning out of knowing that as a nation of horror fans everyone is watching it together.

The last few years however, there is a lack of celebration for Friday the 13th. Sure you’ll get an article featured on Yahoo that discusses Friday the 13th and some of the crazy things that have happened on it, but no te (except HorrorBid) really goes balls to the walls to celebrate the day. I remember a time when every channel would show their love to the day with at least ONE showing of any of the Friday the 13th films. USA & TNN (Spike TV) would showcase movie marathons, Joe Bob Briggs helmed a special Friday Marathon on Monstervion when it was Halloween, and more recently Chiller would show a day long marathon of Friday the 13th: The Series

Friday May 13th, 2011? Well Spike, AMC, Chiller, TNT, etc, are NOT showing any of the Friday films. The big wigs who run these channels and the ones who make the program schedules obviously don’t care about having fun and celebrating one of the last true American traditions.



Below are a few blasts from the past that will make you want to call up some friends, get some pizza, and throw back a few beers and rediscover your fears of having sex instead of watching the kids swims!

Why on earth wouldn't even Chiller show a marathon today??!!
