From FRIGHT NIGHT to BUTT BLAZERS: The Story of "EVIL ED"

The other day someone posted the trailer for the "Fright Night" remake. As I was watching it, I noticed that "McLovin" had taken over the role of Evil Ed and instantly a thought hit my head. Whatever happened to actor Stephen Geoffrys who played the original Evil Ed?

Curioty got the best of me so I looked him up on IMDB and the info I found was a little funny and shocking.

Stephen Geoffrys was born on November 22, 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio. His first year in the movie buness was 1985 and a big year it was.

First was the teen comedies "Heaven Help Us" and "Fraternity Vacation" followed up by the clasc "Fright Night". By the end of 1985 he had made several lists as being "one of the most proming young actors". As proming as he was, he would never come close to the success of 1985. In the years to come there were minor roles on TV shows and a small supporting role in "At Close Range" (1986). Then in 1988 he got his first starring role in Robert Englund's "976-EVIL". After that, there was only two more small rolls in bad movies, the first being "The Chair (1988) then ending with "Moon 44" (1990). After only five years of making movies, Stephen Geoffrys seemed to just disappear off the face of the earth. So where did he go and did he ever stop making movies?

After leaving the buness, little skinny Evil Ed became a bodybuilder (Yes you read that right, bodybuilder) and started directing and starring in gay porn. Starring under the names Sam Ritter, Larry Bert and Stephan Bordeaux, in movies with titles like "Hunk Hotel", "Butt Blazer" and "Leather Buddies". Geoffreys continued his career in the porn industry throughout the 90's and in 2002 made his last adult film.

In 2007 he made a horror comeback as Mr. Putski in "ck Girl". He also has several other projects in the works.

Note: I, in no way lay any judgement on Mr. Geoffrys. His lifestyle and career choices are his buness, and I respect them as such. I just find this as an interesting story of an actor who played one of horror's most memorable characters.

I knew that he had gotten into Gay porn but I had no idea that he was trying to make a comeback in the horror world. Very interesting article, thanks for posting. I just hope that Mclovin doesn't follow in his footsteps (no offense to gays).
