SCREAM 5 in 3D Being Talked About - Good Idea?

Bob Weinstein said never 3D – Scream doesn’t need a gimmick like that. Wes Craven said never 3D – My Soul to Take‘s post-converon was rough enough. Scream‘s greatest asset is its characters, they mutually believe. But then something happened. The film came out and audiences chose a gimmicky talking bird over Scream‘s characters. So sayeth the audience, the dollar has spoken. Now? A Scream 5 would still be about the characters, but it needs an additional factor, some eye-candy to reel in the unbelievers.

Today Dimenon Films tweeted the following:

“Lots of thoughts flying around for 3D! Love it or hate it?” Innocent enough. The company have several properties in varying stages like Piranha 3D-D and Spy Kids 4, both in the extra-dimenonal format. But they have been known to use the account to float general ideas out there – just yesterday, posting “Lots of rumors flying around about #SCREAM5 ! Love the idea or hate it? Let us know”.

I can take or leave 3D myself, but the idea of seeing Woodsbourogh in added dimenons could be cool. Not to mention that smooth ass ghostface mask up in yr face. I say, 'why not?!!'

Go for it. Sounds better than Carrie remake

Honestly, I love the Scream movies but I am ck of 3D. It's more expenve to see in theaters (for obvious reasons) but more importantly I can count the number of movies I've enjoyed in 3D on one finger. 3D horror or live action movies just come across as cheesy and gimmicky to me.

I'm really over the whole 3D thing. I think it's a gimmicky excuse to produce shitty films that people will still flock to (and on occaon play an upcharge for!)
