Norwegian Film TROLL HUNTER Coming To America Via 1492
We knew that it was just a matter of time before someone decided to pick up the rights to remake the 2010 André Øvredal directed Norwegian film Troll Hunter. Let's face it, trolls may be the next big thing. No pun intended!
According to Deadline.com, Chris Columbus’ 1492 Pictures has partnered with CJ Entertainment & Media to acquire the rights to bring this documentary- style film to America. First time writer Marc Haimes
will be set to pen the script.
"Troll Hunter was a visceral, thrilling, cinematic rock and roller coaster ride of a movie. Visually, there are scenes in this film that American audiences have never seen. We want to introduce an international audience to this amazing moviegoing experience," said Columbus.
The Norwegian veron, which follows a group of students who encounter a mysterious hunter who actually turns out to be a troll hunter, will have a limited US theatrical run. First showing starts on June 10 in limited theaters.
