IT (pennywise) remake?

i have heard some friends talking about a remake of Steven kings IT coming out this summer and i want to know any rumors of some sort, or is it fake and just made up? Ty for your help.

I heard they are in the process of doing a remake of IT. I haven't heard anything about who is cast or who will be cast, but I did hear it's supposed to be written by David Kajganich, will be rated R (instead of the original, made for TV series), and will be in theaters. I recently heard that Stephen King sold the rights to the movie though, so while I'm psyched for a remake, I'm not sure what they will do with it.
