James Wan Close to Directing New Line's 'THE CONJURING'

James Wan is no stranger to success when it comes to horror movies, in fact his latest offering , Indious grossed more than $75 million worldwide after only costing barely a million dollars to make. So it's no wonder why studios are willing to take the risk when it comes to having Wan at the helm.



According to an excluve article released on the Variety webte earlier today, James Wan is in final negotiations to direct New Line's The Conjuring.

The film was first hinted back in 2009, when Summit first pitched the idea to get this project started. But after talks fell through to purchase the pitch, New Line stepped in and optioned it.

The Conjuring is based on a script by Carey and Chad Hayes. It concerns the supernatural events of a Rhode Island family known as the "Perrons". Little else is known at this time, and no production start date has been mentioned at this time. We'll keep you posted as more detail surface.
