Details About SEASON 6 of DEXTER Emerge

For those of you who can't wait until next fall to see what's in store for Dexter, don't fret because executive producer and new showrunner Scott Buck gave Entertainment Weekly an excluve preview of the new season, and we've got the details.

As reported by Buck, the character of Dexter Morgan is going to be more "sure-of-himself" and evolved as a serial killer. He's also going to be more centered and focused, kinda like he was in the first season...the difference is he knows a

lot more now.

New characters being introduced for this season are Edward James Olmos, who plays the role of Professor Gellar, an academic who becomes a big person of interest in some crimes that are being committed in Miami. Buck says this season will feature crimes unlike any that the show has ever offered ... much on the same line with the Zodiac killer.

Colin Hanks will play Travis Marshall, who’s very much fallen under the power of Professor Gellar's, whom he conders to be a very close acquaintance. "Travis has absolutely no interest or inclination to hurt anyone, yet he’s also someone who’s strongly driven by a belief system that compels him to do things he doesn’t necessarily want to do."

Other new characters being introduced this season are a religious ex-con, known as "Brother Sam", played by Mos Def. And Aimee Garcia, who plays Jamie, the new nanny for Dexter's son. "She’ll bring in a lot of vitality to Dexter’s life," says Buck. "This young, sparky, upbeat, bigger-than-life charismatic personality is suddenly in Dexter’s world, which is not always going to be a good thing."

As you may know, if your a fan of the show, there are a lot of loose strings in seasons past. According to Buck, "We’re going to try to tie up some things this year, but hopefully in some surpring and very fun ways."

In clong, Buck hinted that early on fans will have something to talk about. "From our opening scene, we begin with Dexter in a place of great danger. Within seconds, you’re going to see Dexter in a place you haven’t seen him before." The executive producer/showrunner also went on to say that they really want to brighten up Dexter's world this season, which became "heavy and brooding at times" last season.
