Biopic For TWILIGHT ZONE Creator Rod Serling in the Works
While Summit Entertainment and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way production company are busy working on their own individual "Twilight Zone" movies news comes in from camp Deadline.com that another, more intimate project is in the works. According to the te, the production company Moving Pictures has secured the rights to create a film based on the life of the creator and narrator of the famous sci-fi/horror televion show.
Before he became the icon we all know today, Serling had a life of hard knocks that included a stint as a paratrooper and member of the demolition squad in the Army during WWII. Stationed in the Philippines, he saw more than his share of death as the US battled the Japanese, and his experiences would inform much of what he would later go on to write about.
He later worked his way into radio and soon become a TV writer who found his mark with the hit CBS series "Twilight Zone," a series that elevated scripted televion with thought-provoking science fiction tales, each with a great and unexpected plot twist. Serling looked everywhere for a proper televion host for the series and after the long search he decided he would try it for the pilot episode. With his famous voice and lit cigarette, Serling would go on to become one of the most recognizable people in televion history.
Stay tuned for more details as we get them. This is an exciting project that has us begging for a milar look and feel that the film ED WOOD was able to capture with director Tim Burton behind the lens.
