Ti West's THE INNKEEPERS Premiering Where?...

Ti West is a prime example of a man that knows horror. Whether you're a fan of THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL or not, you have to respect the writer/directors take on the horror genre and his ability to create suspenseful, period type horror films the likes we haven't quite seen this generation.

His next foray into the world of the macabre is THE INNKEEPERS which is based on a true story of a haunted hotel. Where can you see this film premiere? Why the 2011 dewalk Moving Picture Festival in Birmingham, Alabama...that's where! Below is the press release and all the details for you Southerners looking for some good, original horror!

From the Press Release One of the most exciting and original filmmakers on the independent scene today, Ti West (The Roost, Trigger Man and The House of the Devil), directs, edits and co-produces his original screenplay about two employees of a soon-to-be-closed hotel who get more than they bargained for when they set out to prove that the hotel is as haunted as its reputation in The Innkeepers.

After over 100 years of service, The Yankee Pedlar Inn is shutting its doors for good. The last remaining employees - Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy)- are determined to uncover proof of what many believe to be one of New England's most haunted hotels. As the Inn's final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage "ghost hunters" begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel's long unexplained history.

The Innkeepers is not shocking or truly scary but instead is packed with clasc startles that have all the allure, charm and fascination of a 1980's era haunted house amusement ride along with an equal number of laughs. The film is an exceptional, yet clasc, tale that stands out in a stellar year of independent film.

The Innkeepers made its World Premiere at SXSW in March of 2011 and was an official selection of the 2011 LA Film Festival.

dewalk's Opening Night After Party will be held at the B&A Warehouse immediately following the screening of The Innkeepers (approximately 10:00 pm). Live entertainment will be provided by the Blue Galaxy String Project and the Green Seed, all guests will be treated to a champagne toast upon arrival and a fully stocked VIP lounge will be open to those with VIP Festival Credentials. Filmmakers and special guests will be in attendance.

Opening night tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling 205-332-3715 or online (
