Spike Lee Set To Direct Oldboy Remake!

If you’re familiar with the South Korean chiller Oldboy, you know it’s one of the most disturbing films to hit the market in years. You may also be aware of the fact that a planned American reboot has been in the works for some time.

With Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, The Cell) having already adapted the script, which Roy Lee and Doug Davison are producing, the film has been in need of a competent director to get the wheels rolling.

Well, the news just broke that the director’s seat has officially been filled by none other than profound filmmaker (and genre neophyte) Spike Lee (Malcolm X, Do the Right Thing).

No word on a tentative release date for the American adaptation of Oldboy, but we’ll keep you posted as the news comes our way!
