FEARnet Original Series: 'HOLLISTON' Coming From Adam Green & Joe Lynch
We got some great breaking news coming to us from Deadline involving the FEARnet channel. According to Deadline, FEARnet has greenlighted its first ever original series, Holliston, which is being listed as an offbeat half-hour, multicamera buddy comedy series starring two of the genres ring filmmakers - Adam Green (Hatchet 1 & 2) and Joe Lynch (Knights of Badassdom, Wrong Turn 2).
The x-episode series, incidentally created by Green, is scheduled to start production later this year. Marking it the first original production for the 24 hour network. Holliston is expected to join FEARnet's Tuesday night "Twisted Comedy" block which is a horror-comedy lineup that was launched earlier this month by the channel with two acquired scripted series, Todd & the Book Of Pure Evil and Psychoville.
Set in the town of Holliston, MA, Holliston is described as "Wayne's World meets Saw" and stars Green and Lynch as lesser verons of themselves. They will play Adam and Joe, two friends chang the dream of becoming successful horror movie filmmakers while struggling to make ends meet and dealing with life and the oppote sex in their post-college jobs at a cable access station where they also host a late night movie program called The Movie Crypt.
"This is a show built on the memories and real-life experiences of our post-college days, wrapped in a shroud of wrongness, packed full of movie quotes and genre references, and topped off with plenty of jokes at the expense of our real-life friends and industry associates," said Green. "No other network would have the guts to make this show; we’re pushing the boundaries of televion. I mean, what other tcom on televion includes exploding heads and an imaginary alien friend who lives in the closet?"
