Back to the Beginning, A Movie Review of The Gorilla (1939)

Its time to go back to the beginning of horror movies. Tonight I bring you The Gorilla from 1939; it is a horror, mystery, comedy film directed by Allan Dwan, starring Bela Lugo, Lionel Atwill, and the Ritz brothers.

The storyline goes as followed... "When a wealthy man is threatened by a killer known as The Gorilla, he hires the Ritz Brothers to investigate. A real escaped gorilla shows up at the manon just as the investigators arrive."

This film was more comedy than horror, however there were a few scene that I know back in 1939 would of been scary and condered horror to people. I found this film to be a very enjoyable clasc horror comedy. I will recommend this one!

Rating wise I give this film a 6 out of 10.

*NOTE* I did purchase this film in a collection of old horror movies.
