Guess Who's Back At The Helm To Direct Resident Evil: Retribution?

It has been heavily speculated that Paul W.S. Anderson will return to the directors chair for the fifth installment of the Redent Evil franchise, and according to Bloody-Disgusting the speculations are true. Anderson directed both the first film in the franchise and Redent Evil: Afterlife 3D, which arrived in theaters last September. In additon to directing "Retribution", Anderson has also penned the screenplay.

In other news, B-D has also learned that enna Guillory will be returning as "Jill Valentine," although it's being said that she may be recast. Other casting news involves

"Barry Burton", who was a member of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics And Rescue Service), and "Leon Scott Kennedy," a U.S. Government agent, and previously an officer for the Raccoon City Police Department."

Look for Redent Evil: Retribution to begin shooting this October in Toronto, Canada and then all the way to Tokyo, Japan. Plot details remain cryptic, but as mentioned yesterday the film opens in theatres on September 14, 2012 from Screen Gems.
