The Munsters Rebooted: An Edgier & Slightly Darker Show May Be Coming To NBC

By show of hands, how many Bidites would love to see a reboot of the popular TV show from the 60's -The Munsters? One, two, three, anyone else???

Whether you like this idea or not, it's pretty much a go - so say's the Hollywood Reporter who has confirmed today that the new NBC Entertainment chief Robert Greenblatt is strongly condering the posbility of developing a remake of The Munsters with Pushing Daies creator Bryan Fuller.

Greenblatt is said to like the idea of a remake so much that he has asked Fuller to take another attempt at the project. Fuller and NBC originally made an attempt to revive the 1960s CBS tcom last year, with the Peacock ultimately pasng.

Fuller's new look is said to be "an edgier and slightly darker hourlong take exploring origins of Herman and Lily Munster (Fred Gwynne and Yvonne De Carlo) and how they arrived at the famed 1313 Mockingbird Lane address." Universal Media Studios will produce the show.

The original series, produced by Universal Studios, aired 70 episodes from 1964 to 1966 on CBS.

We're dying to hear your opinions on this reboot decion, please leave a comment below.
