David Cronenberg's Remake of THE FLY Celebrates its 25th Anniversary

One of the greatest remakes in my opinion stars Jeff Goldblum as Seth Brundle in David Cronenberg’s The Fly. The film takes the out of date clasc that Vincent Price starred in during the 50's and gave the film the "wings" that it needed. In no small part thanks to an Oscar award winning special effects display put on by Chris Walas (who would go on to direct the sequel).

SlashFilm recently did an article on the 25th anniversary of the film (link below) that is a must read if you're a fan. This is a film to celebrate and a timeless movie that is as good a watch today as it was when it opened on August 15th, 1986. Check out the link to the article and long live remakes! Wait, am I really saying that? In this case yes! The film needed a remake and it delivered. If you can say that about a remake than it did its job. And Croneberg's The Film did that and then some.
