Fox Finds It's Director: Shawn Levy To Helm Frankenstein

Variety is reporting that Shawn Levy (pictured below) has gned on to direct the upcoming Frankenstein

project for Fox. This is a pretty big step forward for the studio who is going to be competing in a race with at least a half-dozen other projects based on the Universal monster tale.

Max Landis has been handling the writing duties for the studio, and now that it's official we know that Levy ("Night at the Museum," "Real Steel") has secured his seat on the directors chair.

Although the studio would not confirm Levy's attachment, all des have reached an agreement making his involvement legitimate. The studios next step is to try to get the ball rolling as quickly as posble. With a major distributor and director now set, Fox's Frankenstein certainly appears at the moment to be pulling ahead of milar projects that are also brewing.

Landis' revised veron of Frankenstein has been described as a sci-fi take on the traditional Mary Shelley Story, with it's main focus based on the themes of friendship and redemption.

They should make a mini-series on Dean Koontz's Frankenstein books. Those were amazing.
