Hannibal The TV Series?? French Film Studio Is Headed To LA To Create The Show

Looks like Hannibal may be bringing his appetite for human flesh to the small screen in the near future.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the French film studio known as Gaumont is making it's way overseas and to the small screen with the newly formed independent studio Gaumont International Televion (GIT) which is based in L.A.

One of their first project's that's in development for the new company, is an hour-long drama series called Hannibal which will be written by Bryan Fuller. The series is said to follow the famous Dr. Hannibal Lecter and his patient, a young FBI criminal profiler who empathizes with serial killers.



Fuller, who is best known as being the mind behind Pushing Daies, Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me, will also serve as the executive producer of the series alongde Martha De Laurentiis.

No casting information has been announced as of yet, but one can only hope that r Anthony Hopkins will be contacted to reprise as the role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Look for to show to launch at this year’s Mipcom market this October.
