'You're Next' To Be Given A Wide Theatrical Release in 2012 From Lionsgate

You may remember several weeks ago we served up the goods on a new horror flick which was wowing fans at the Toronto International Film Festival held from Sept 8-18. Well, according to Deadline the home invaon horror flick You're Next has been sold to Lionsgate - which means good news for all of us North American horror nerds.

In You’re Next, a family comes under a terrifying and sadistic attack during a reunion getaway. Stranded in a secluded home, they are forced to fight off a barrage of axes, crossbows and machetes. The killers soon discover that one of the victims is surpringly talented at fighting back

Based on all the potive chatter that the film received at multiple screenings this year, Lionsgate feels that the film could have the same box-office breakout potential of Toronto’s 2010 hit Indious.

The film is directed by Adam Wingard and written by mon Barrett, the same team behind the 2010 Toronto film A Horrible Way to Die. According to the article, The Weinstein Company and Paramount and Indian Paintbrush also expressed a great deal of interest in obtaining the title. Sharni Vinson, Joe Swanberg, AJ Bowen, Nicholas Tucci and Barbara Crampton all star.

The theatrical release will be wide, but we may have to wait it out until fall of 2012.
