A New Slasher Icon? The Orphan Killer (Movie Review)

Yet again another random movie I found and decided to watch, The Orphan Killer made it evident it is wanting a memorable slasher spot. Could this slasher named Marcus Miller posbly match up to Michael, Jason, or other notable slashers?

Story line: Let me start off with what this movie is pretty much about. Marcus and Audrey Miller both become orphans after their parents were killed randomly one night. They live in a catholic orphanage together until one day when Marcus tries to protect his ster by killing another child in the orphanage. The nuns who work at the orphanage then hide him away from the other kids, including his ster, and put a mask on his face after torturing him. Years later all of this anger and resentment towards the catholic church obviously builds up in his mind and he still seems to be lurking around the church. His ster Audrey had been adopted to another family and became a school teacher at the church. One random night after a performance put on by the church Marcus gains access to the church locking in those who remained it the building, including Audrey. What horrors go on in this church are ungodly but then again when is horror very godly?

The cinematography in this film was pure art however, the light, editing, continuity, and sound was not quite up to par.

The special effects makeup was literally gut openingly real with a wonderful amount of blood however maybe too much at some parts if you know the human anatomy well.

The plot and storyline was confung at points and unfortunately we've sort of seen this before.

There was a lot of random scenes or moments that did not make sense like when Marcus is raping? his ster with a machete... I honestly don't know what was going on because they just showed him going down with a machete and her face screaming the whole time.

Some of the deaths were not as believable and in fact looked like pg-13 death scenes compared to the other very graphic deaths they show.

The real kicker to this film is that Audrey Miller, a school teacher a catholic church, dresses like your ideal catholic school girl in a porno. On top of her looking like this you find out she is not wearing any panties under her short school girl skirt.

Overall: I would say this film was bloodybrutaltastical! However I would give this film a 5 out of 10 because yes it was good at some points but it was also bad at some points.

According to IMDB Matt Farnsworth's The Orphan Killer is a "franchise" so, this may not be the last we hear from Marcus Miller.

Finally, does Marcus Miller belong to notable slashers like Freddy and Michael? I would say that yes he does have the look for it but, I can see Marcus being very milar to Michael if they keep up the brother ster shindig. Ultimately I would say no unless, Farnsworth gets a better crew and tries to steer the sequel if there is one away from the Michael Myers likeness.

Umm this is just MY PERSONAL OPINION AND REVIEW of the film... You could've just posted what you posted in a new topic instead of trying to make me look like an ass with something you most likely copy and pasted 95% of...

https://www.facebook.com/orphankiller Forgive me for asking, but are you the director or in any way involved? If you are, you really shouldn't post something as long and egotistical as this toward your movie, because you end up looking like a complete asswipe to the community. Masks? Action figures? VIDEO GAMES??? Let's try and be realistic here.

Gonna have to check this one out. It's nice to see a new crop of slashers springing up, even if they can't (IMHO) touch the originals.

LONG LIVE THE BUTCHER KNIFE!!!

To do a valid review, of course, I did a lot of research about this film. As for the "torrent" comment I did not watch the torrented veron. The audio just did not sound right to me in some parts for example the shots fired, the locker door shutting, and much more. Again this is just my opinion of the film after watching it and doing some research. I'd like to see you post your review of this movie on the te under a new topic Mhudsondevout.

Quite amung reading all this rambling...but anyway, speaking of audio, I am diggin' the metal soundtrack in the trailer. Seems like a perfect fit for the whole bound and torture atmosphere :)~
