Who is THE ULTIMATE Scream Queen?

WHO IS THE SCREAM QUEEN?

Tough one eh?

Wikipedia - A scream queen is an actress who has become associated with horror films, either through an appearance in a notable entry in the genre, as a frequent victim, or through constant appearances as the female protagonist.

We'll go by the set definition quoted above.

So who is she?

Not sure if we want to do this by quantity of films or quality?

I'm guesng we'll go with quantity of Horror Films starred in rather because of the actresses love for the genre or because they couldn't get another gig (type-casted).

Better yet to Narrow this down . . . What Female Actress has starred in the MOST horror movies (clascs - modern)?

I'm going to start with naming a few of the obvious to get them out of the way and make you work a little for this one.

its my opinion

scream queen was a phrase and title born in the slasher boom from the late 70s and late 80's

its hard for me to take any modern "scream queens" seriously or 90% of the movies they are in its just not the same.

but thats just me, im getting more and more jaded with horror movies the older i get

im still waiting for that era that really knocks me on my ass like the original scream queen/slasher era did but the way things are nowadays i just dont see it happening anytime soon

I have started to think that was as well and I got to thinkings all of the cool things I felt pasonate about happened many years ago...oh well...Those memories will last a life time and its like the saying they dont build them like they used too! This girl will do the trick!

Winner??????.....I think yes!

Ahh thanks Bisco, I thought I missed some official announcement that it was "condered" dead.

I have to agree with you to a degree, it's rare in recent horror flicks if a new girl puts the "QUEEN" in scream now a days.

Another good point about waiting for that next era to take us by storm.

It seems less and less likely that it will happen anytime soon . . partially due to the lack of originality and maybe also because our culture in general has become more desentized.

He's right... IMO... I feel the same way. I was born in 86, but spent my whole younger days watching the older stuff from the 70's and 80's so I know alot about the big change from then until now...

I can't see them making the big shock anytime soon either as the Originality has faded and has become a thing of the past. To many bandwagon films... First came the ring and few years later So many movies with the same CGI character with long black hair clogging the nk drains and growing out from the walls... Modern day Slashers are mostely remakes of the Originals because they don't know how to do anything new.

oh well... I don't want to strech this out anymore than it needs to be to make my point.

I know exactly what your saying. What I bacally meant is the new crowd of horror is already being feed this new typer of slasher movies and the slasher flicks we grew up with are fading into the distance of time a little more with every new release that is coming out. You can see how the flicks and leading ladies have changed fromt he monster era to the slasher era to the new era of horror....It went from classy to innocent to porn star...lol

I think I speak for everyone when I say bring back the classy and innocent leading ladies

that horror is lacking these days. You don't really connect and care for the characters as much any more.
