Ben Stiller To Direct A Horror Movie?
We know what your thinking, because we're thinking it too - Ben Stiller? Horror? Yep! That's what's being reported by Deadline. Here's the deets:
It's highly anticipated that 20th Century Fox will acquire the rights to produce The Mountain, a spec script written by Helen Childress in which the comedian will develop to direct.
Stiller will also produce the film along with his
Red Hourpartner Stuart Cornfeld, rejoining the duo which was responble for writing Reality Bites.
The project is a horror story based on characters from Summer, the novel by Edith Wharton. Set in the early 1900s, The Mountain revolves around a young woman who struggles to confront her destiny after stumbling upon a mysterious object that forces her to examine the secrets of her past. It’s a sophisticated horror premise in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby.
Sounds pretty damned interesting if you ask me, stay tuned for more...
