Ron Perlman Joins the Cast Of Guillermo Del Toro's Monster vs Robot Flick 'Pacific Rim'

In a recent interview with Wired, the prolific director and storyteller known as Guillermo Del Toro talked briefly about his upcoming "giant monster vs giant robot" movie which bears the name Pacific Rim.

During the interview Del Toro rattled off a few names involved in the project but there was one name in particular that hadn't been previously announced,and his name is Ron Perlman.



"We are working with actors that I absolutely adore," said Del Toro. "Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman. It’s really, it’s a very, very beautiful poem to giant monsters. Giant monsters versus giant robots. Twenty-five-story-high robots beating the crap out of 25-story-high monsters. We’re trying to create a world in which the characters are real and how it would affect our world politically, how it would affect the landscape if creatures like this really came out of the sea, etc."

Pacific Rim deals with a masve war against alien creatures who rede in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The story finds a group of humans banding together to create and pilot masve robots to fight the giant creatures threatening to destroy Earth.
