Some more found footage news is coming our way once again, this time form Deadline - who just informed us that Universal has acquired a spec script which was written by The Strangers writer/director Bryan Bertino (pictured below).

Jason Blum, who produced the highly successful Paranormal Activity films, acquired the project to be produced by Blumhouse Productions, along with Marc Platt and Adam egel of Marc Platt Productions. Bertino and his Unbroken Pictures partner Adrienne Biddle will also produce the film which will be based on "found footage." Blum and Platt currently have term deals at the studio.

The spec script, also known as a speculative screenplay, was originally titled Mockingbird, but at present time the project remains untitled. Bertino will not be aboard to direct the film. No other news was made available, but stay tuned as we learn more.
