Warner Home Entertainment has just announced that they will bring Gremlins 2: The New Batch home to Blu-ray for the first time this spring. This vivacious sequel to the 1984 horror-comedy finds Billy and his Mogwai Gizmo
stuck in an ultra-modern New York City skyscraper and facing off ever-increang hordes of malicious Gremlins.

Featuring spirited performances from John Glover (Batman & Robin), Phoebe Cates (Fast Times at Ridgemont High), Dick Miller, Robert Prosky, Christopher Lee, Robert Picardo, and Tony Randall - as well as imaginative special effects from Rick Baker (Men in Black) - director Joe Dante (Piranha) uses the sequel's framework as an excuse to pay homage to his filmmaking inspirations, turning the film's second half into a post-modern collage of Roger Corman cheapies, 1950's monster movies, Looney Tunes cartoons, and even Broadway mucals.
Warner has not released the technical and supplementary specifications for this Blu-ray at this time of writing, so it is still unknown if the disc will include any of the following supplements that previously appeared on the DVD:
Commentary by director Joe Dante, producer Michael Finnell, writer Charlie Haas, and star Zach Galligan
Behind The Screams featurette
Deleted scenes
Gremlin Files feature
