The Ultimate Question: What Is The Scariest Horror Film Ever Made?!?! - SICKorSHIT

Here we go...

Out of all the hundreds of horror films I've sat through only a handful have left me with a pair of wet under pants! I want to know what films made you scared to go to bed that night!Usually when I ask this question to people they say "The Exorcist", "Halloween" or "The Shining", no. These films may of been scary when your 10 years old or back in the day when they were fresh, but these movies don't stand up to today's "scary" standards. I want YOU to leave a comment on this post telling me the movie(s) that scared the fecal matter out of your shitless body! For me I would include movies such as: INDIOUS, REC, REC 2, THE DESCENT, GRAVE ENCOUNTERS, MEGAN IS MISNG and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY. So Bidites, whats the scariest movie ever made?

Drag Me to Hell. Those of you who saw it in a theater know what I mean. A small screen and comfy couch in a brightly lit living room do not count. My girlfriend and I went to see it opening day, expecting Raimi's usual macabre humor ala EVIL DEAD. We went early to avoid crowds and the whoops and shouts of assorted dipshits. (mistake) we were practically the only ones in that dark empty place.

Raimi makes excellent use of sound and movement, spinning the camera and chrning your stomach with low eerie violins to create a roller-coaster effect. I usually detest films that make use of the startler and digital effects but it was executed so perfectly here that I had to respect it. This film is relentless and hits you when youleast expect it. It made me so paranoid I was afraid to turn coners, open doors, turn on lights, open curtains, pass windows, look in mirrors, or even look people in the face. The sound editing was crafty in adding in everyday sounds to the scares so every creak, hum or flushing toilet made you tense. This is the only movie that has ever left me shaking. I have mild PTSD to this day from the experience. Absent a film screen, the closest you could get to the experience is to turn off every light in the house while alone, t on a stool in the middle of the room, as close to the screen as posble, and turn up your sorround sound so

loud your ears start to bleed. and drink a 2 liter of ice cold coke or mountain dew before watching, Just to amp up your nerves.

Funny you say that! I watched Drag Me To Hell last night (review coming shortly)

with "A small screen and comfy couch" - I still found it fairly scary but nothing stuck with me. I defiantly understand that it would be a better (and scarier) experience in a empty cinema! :P
