Based on an original story by Paranormal Activity mastermind Oren Peli, Chernobyl Diaries is set in the city of Prypiat, which once housed the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor.

Production for the film which was written by Peli, Carey Van Dyke, and Shane Van Dyke, took place in September and October 2011 in Eastern Europe with Peli and Brian Witten (Dark City) producing. Alcon Entertainment's Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson are exec producers.

Look for the Brad Parker-directed film to be released this Memorial Day weekend.
