Well Bidites we've got some disappointing news for you. Today we received review copies of the upcoming HALLOWEEN 4 & 5 Blu-rays, and the 30 minutes of deleted/alternate scenes were not on the disc, but they were mentioned on the press release that came with the discs.
You might be thinking, "isn't a review copy something that just has the movie, comes in a paper sleeve/plastic case, and doesn't really include anything else?" Yes, that's exactly what it is. However, these came shrink wrapped in Blu-ray cases with artwork. nce the actual release date (August 21st-According To Amazon, or August 28th-According To The Official Press Release) is so close I'm led to believe that these are FINAL releases.
Official Press Release That Lists The Deleted Scenes As A Bonus Feature
Back Of H4 Blu-ray Case
I popped the disc in to take a look, and while I LOVE the menu no option to view the footage is present, and I doubt they'd go through the trouble of making it an Easter Egg (A Hidden Feature On The Disc.) I'm still holding onto some small hope that these might be review copies and that the footage might be present when the Blu-ray is officially released later this month. I'm hoping we get some answers soon. I've tried to reach out to Anchor Bay about this, but have not gotten a response yet.
I'm curious, how many of you will still buy this release without the deleted scenes? Is a superior 1080p transfer with a DTS-HD-MA 5.1 audio track with a NEW commentary by Director Dwight H. Little & Author Justin Behmn enough to make you pick it up?
I feel that the sole reason a lot of you we're picking this up because these scenes were going to be included, but it looks like we were just being teased and set up for disappointment.
