Magnet Offers Up a Sneak Peak Of The ABCs Of Death In Front Of 'V/H/S' Theatrical Showings

If you have already made, or intend to make plans to see the upcoming theatrical release of V/H/S -- we've just gotten wind from Magnet Releang that a little-bitty piece of goodness is being offered to sweeten up the whole movie-going experience. Check out the details below.

In honor of the theatrical release of the terrifying horror anthology V/H/S this Friday, October 5th, Magnet is offering a special sneak peek at “D is for Dogfight,” a visceral short from another anticipated horror anthology, THE ABCs OF DEATH. Directed by Marcel Sarmiento (Deadgirl), “D is for Dogfight” is one of the 26 shorts from 26 international genre filmmakers that comprise THE ABCs OF DEATH, an ambitious film that features a way to meet your maker for every letter of the alphabet.

Called “the scariest film of the year” by Rolling Stone, V/H/S is a wickedly conceived horror anthology from directors Ti West (The House of the Devil), David Bruckner (The gnal), Adam Wingard (You’re Next), Joe Swanberg (Hannah Takes the Stairs), Glenn McQuaid (I Sell the Dead) and the Radio lence collective. Starting with a group of petty criminals that are hired to retrieve a mysterious tape from a rundown house in the middle of nowhere, V/H/S sends the viewer through a gauntlet of suspense, terror, shock and downright brutality—instantly distinguishing itself from a sea of lackluster found-footage horror films.

“D is for Dogfight” will be shown before theatrical showings of V/H/S at the following Landmark theaters:

Sunshine Cinema 5, New York City

Ritz at the Bourse, Philadelphia

E Street Cinema, Washington DC

Century Center Cinema, Chicago

Lagoon Cinema, Minneapolis

Tivoli Theatre, St. Louis

Esquire Theatre, Denver

Keystone Art Cinema, Indianapolis (midnight shows only)

V/H/S is also opening this Friday in Boston, San Diego, Seattle, San Francisco and Berkeley. The film is also available now On Demand everywhere, including iTunes, and Cable VOD, however “D is for Dogfight” is only being shown at theatrical engagements.THE ABCs OF DEATH will debut On Demand everywhere on January 31, 2013, and in theaters on March 8th. The film was well received at its world premiere last month at the Toronto International Film Festival, and at its raucous showing at Fantastic Fest in Austin. It includes shorts from 26 hot genre filmmakers, including Ben Wheatley (Kill List), Ti West, Adam Wingard and mon Rumley, Nacho Vigolando (Timecrimes), Adrian Bogliano (Here Comes the Devil), Xavier Gens (Hitman), Jason Eisener (Hobo With a Shotgun), Jon Schnepp (Metalocalypse), Yoshihiro Nishimura (Tokyo Gore Police), Noboru Iguchi (RoboGeisha) and more.A full list of participating filmmakers is available at www.magnetreleang.com/theabcsofdeath.
