Top 50 horror films ever

IMBD comprised this list some a few months ago based on people voting on their favorite horror films.

Many I agree with but I am a little surprised about others. Either they rated them very high on the list or low balled the crap out of others, like my beloved Evil Dead (look at HalloweeN way down on the list too kiddies!) And am I just a slasher fan at heart or what but no Friday the 13th or TCM? Do you guys agree with the list for the most part?

no, no, no I don't agree with this list at all. wtf were they thinking. you have got to put halloween higher on that list and aliens, isn't that a bit too sci-fi to be in the top 5 of a horror list?

Maybe the votes are of people that never watched none of these movies.

King Kong and Frankesntein up to Halloween? And what about Exorcist, that many conder the best horror movie ever??? I suggest all of us send an e-mail with the opinion of those who more understand about horror movies actually: us! Let's make our own list and put it on the web!

That list is LAME...

We should totally redo that list for sure.

Was this compiled by people rating a list of 50 preselected films or people actually selecting what they thought to be the top 50?

Honestly these type of lists are quite ridiculous nce there is really no objective criteria (such as box office draws all adjusted for inflation) for ranking them. When it's so subjective, what one person would conder their top 50 may be different from anyone else. My own personal top 50 would include about 5 or 6 slasher flicks, all of which would be in the bottom half of the list, where someone else here might list nothing but slashers. Neither is wrong...just different perspectives.

Well, agreed in parts... You could do your own list, and if I do mine, surely they'll be differents. In my list, there are a couple of "new horror movies" (not even SAW being listed); but, we had some things that are mply stupid, as Oldskool said, Alien isn't a horror movie. And where are the clascs od Friday 13th? When I said "let's do another list and send it for them" I'm just kidding, but I'm got the damn sure that, if we redo, it'll be quite different... How many spended nights to watch the more movies I could watch... This must count for something.. LOL!

blah, this list is junk. we need to come up with our own top 50 list!

well if we are doing our own list I'm throwing a few into the hat (in no particular order):

Halloween Friday the 13th A nightmare on Elm Street The original Dracula The original Frankenstein The original Wolfman Plan 9 from Outer Space (this HAS to go in

) Evil Dead Army of Darkness Behind the Mask: The rise of Leslie Vernon (I know some of you hate this

) Exorcist

Psycho (arguably the first slasher) Shaun of the Dead Pet Semetary Night of the Living Dead The Thing (the original or remake) The Shinning

Scream (for redefining a new sub horror genre) Texas Chain Saw Massacre (original) Se7en lence of the Lambs (some say this isn't Horror but I disagree, it has all of the elements needed . .. plus it won the oscar for best picture) The Birds American Psycho Phantom of the Opera (original)
