As per Deadline, Thomas Kretschmann (Wanted), will play Abraham Van Helng who, in this veron of the story, is a brilliant professor with a seemingly cool exterior whose obseson with revenge and power may make him a more dangerous threat to the public than Dracula himself. In addition Oliver Jackson-Cohen has also been cast as the handsome Jonathan Harker, a tenacious and slightly gauche journalist desperate to climb the ranks of aristocracy — and stay there.

The series, based on a script by co-executive producer Cole Haddonre, centers on Dracula (Meyers) as he arrives in London pong as American entrepreneur Alan Grayson, who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier, but he falls hopelessly in love with Mina Murray (De Gouw), who appears to be the reincarnation of his dead wife.

Dan Knauf will serve as the showrunner and head writer of the 10-episode straight-to-series order.
