"Ouija" -Original Story- Chapter Eight

Chapter Eight

Groggy, Angelina forced herself out of bed. tting on the edge of the mattress, she inhaled, and held the breath in momentarily. Turning around towards her husband, she released. Running her hands across his abdomen, she made sure he was awake.“How did you sleep,” Nathan’s voice was deep and raspy.Angelina reached for her hair tie on the nightstand, and began putting her hair into a ponytail. Hetantly, she answered her husband’s question.

“I had nightmares,” She stated truthfully.“I did too,” Nathan responded.

The two sat in lence for a brief moment, Nathan’s hand rubbing against Angelina’s shirt was the only sound in the house.“Im gonna go check on my mom, and get breakfast started. Then ill get the kids up,” Angelina turned towards Nathan.

He didn’t answer, just smiled. Watching as his wife stood, and made her way to the restroom, Nathan yawned. Rubbing both eyes, he sat up. Lightly scratching his chest, he listened as the toilet flushed. The faucet began to run, and the swish of a toothbrush cleaning Angelina’s teeth interrupted the steady stream. Ring to his feet, he made sure the bedroom door was closed, he wasn’t wanting his mother-in-law to see him in nothing but a pair of boxer briefs. The restroom door opened, and Angelina stepped out. Placing his hands on her hips, he pulled her towards him.

“Today is a new day, and everything is going to be fine.” He stated gently.Angelina didn’t reply, she laid her head on his bare chest and wrapped her arms around his waist. She savored the moment, before forcing herself to let go. Looking up into his eyes, she smiled. Nathan responded with a kiss to her forehead, and made his way to the restroom.Waiting until she heard the restroom door close, Angelina made her way out of the room. The house was so quiet, her footsteps into the soft carpet were unusually loud. Nearing Leighton’s room, she gently twisted the doorknob. As the room came into view, she could see her son’s head was at the foot of the bed. The blankets were on the floor, and a small section of the sheets were wrapped around his waist. Leighton was sprawled out over the head of the bed, cradled between the pillows and headboard. Shaking her head in amusement, she carefully closed the door.“Mom,” she quietly tapped on Hayden’s door.Waiting in the lence, she listened. It was quiet.“Mom,” she repeated.Twisting the doorknob, she slowly pushed it forward. The bed was still made, as if no one had slept in it. Taking a few steps into the room, she searched for her mother’s belongings.Nothing.“Mother,” Angelina called a little louder.

Taking a step back into the hallway, Angelina listened to the lence once more. Perhaps her mother was in the restroom. Turning towards the bathroom, she noticed the door was closed over, a sliver of light was cast upon the floor. Angelina felt uneasy, and could sense something wasn’t right. Her heart fluttered with anticipation as she inched her way forward. Her thoughts were racing, yet she tried to explain to herself that all the bad was gone. Touching the handle, it shook as her unsteady hand gripped it.A light thud came from the living room, instantly catching Angelina’s attention. Her hand flinched back, gripping her shirt. Her heart sped up, and her nerves were screeching in suspense. Scratching her forehead, she closed her eyes and exhaled. There was nothing to be afraid of, and being scared was becoming rather annoying to her. Clearing her throat, Angelina took a step towards the living room with determination.“Mom, I’ve been calling you.” Angelina spoke softly.

Entering the room, she could see her mothers purse on the floor. The contents were tossed about, and made their way to the family dog. Sebastian was tting next to the couch eating a piece of beef jerky he had managed to get out of its package. A tall glass of water was on the edge of the coffee table, still full. Walking towards her the couch, Angelina stooped down to pick up her mother’s belongings.“You know better than this, Sebastian.” She scolded.

Once the spilled contents were back in the purse, Angelina sat it on the coffee table. Staring at the glass of water next to it, she glanced around the room. Slowly, she reached forward. Her fingertips grazed the clear container, and hetantly she wrapped her hand around it. From the temperature of the glass, she could infer it had been placed there quite some time ago.A shrill scream knocked Angelina off her balance, and sent her nerves over the edge. On instinct, she ran towards her child’s cries. Racing through the hallway, Angelina could see Leighton standing the in the restroom doorway. Swooping down, she cocooned her daughter. Her eyes began to flow with tears as she shielded Leighton’s eyes. Hearing her bedroom door open, she could feel as Nathan made his way towards them in concern. The surrounding noises faded out as Angelina fell to her knees. Sobbing, she covered her mouth with both hands. As Nathan lifted Leighton up into his arms, she could see the bottoms of her pajama’s were stained red. Looking back into the restroom, her eyes rested on her mother’s house coat. The light pink cloth was covered in gore, and lying in the center of the room. The once white walls were covered in splatters of blood. It dripped from the ceiling, and ran down the shower curtain. The floor looked painted with the carnage, and a smeared handprint ran along the wall until it faded into a heavy marked spot. * * * * * * *

Getting the children out of the house, was a priority, and Angelina made sure Nathan drove the kids to school. The house was swarming with police and crime scene investigators. They weren’t able to find any evidence, or reasons as to what happened. There was no gn of forced entry, or struggle. There was no blood trail showing the body ever left the restroom, or what had actually taken place. Nothing made sense, but the cause of this horrendous event was clear to Angelina. Fighting past the tears to keep her composure, she helped in anyway she could. Still, she decided to keep the supernatural aspect out of her story. She wasn’t sure what they would think of this far fetched tale. Playing it back in her head, it was hard to believe, and she couldn’t bare to explain it to someone.“Mrs. Reese,” A tall dark skinned man politely introduced himself.Forcing a smile, Angelina made her way to him.

“Im special agent, Marcus Carter. As im sure you have overheard, not a lot makes sense about this tuation. However, we are doing our best to piece together the puzzle. This is a very unordinary case, and we are preparing to take the full precautions with this one. We are going to go ahead and put out a misng persons file on your mother, and hopefully get to the bottom of all this. I understand this is a tough time for you, and I couldn’t imagine the questions you have, or the emotions rushing through your veins right now. If you ever need to talk, just contact me on my cell.” He pulled a small card from his jacket pocket and handed it to Angelina.“Thank you,” Angelina managed to choke out.Her body was numb, in every sense. She couldn’t find the strength to speak, or even swallow. Forcing herself to pay attention, and move her eyes was taking a toll. Slowly walking towards the dinning room table, Angelina pressed her hand firmly against the wall. Her knees were weak, and her stomach was queasy. Reaching the chair, she took a seat and placed her head in her hands. Unable to fight any longer, she started to sob. She could feel as she began to break. Piece by piece, event by event she had gotten weaker. The more she lingered on the traumatic events that had been taking place in her life, the more anger started to even out her sorrow.

Feeling as strong arms wrapped around her, Angelina drew in a breath of surprise. She could smell Nathan, and instantly she felt comforted. For many moments, he held on to her, making sure she knew he was there. Hearing the special agent begin to speak to her husband, Angelina let her head rest on the table. Knowing he would handle it from here on out, she closed her eyes.

“I have a number to a very good aftermath service, I recommend you give them a call. I’ll take the liberty of calling ahead of time so they know to be expecting you.” Marcus spoke softly.

“Thank you, very much, Its really appreciated.” Nathan replied.

“I don’t understand the madness in this town at the moment, but I pray no one else has to endure what your family will be going through.” Marcus gave Nathan’s shoulder a light pat.

His words were straight forward, and Nathan took them at face value. Yet, as the words echoed in his head, he felt they had a deeper meaning than the agent intended.Ignoring the chilling feeling, he escorted the remaining officers out of his house. Clong the door, he leaned against it. None of this made any sense to him. He wanted desperately to be able to handle the tuation, and end this for his family’s sake. Feeling helpless, he stared as his wife. Her back was spasming as she sobbed to herself. Feeling his heart ache with her pain, he bit his lip. Letting out a deep breath, he fought to maintain his façade.“Baby,” he crouched in front of her.

Running his hand along her back, he looked into her eyes. She didn’t respond to him, just turned her attention to his face. Her lip quivered as she tried to regain her stable sense of self.“Baby, its okay to cry. Its okay to break, and let your emotions out.” He tried to comfort her.

Her breaths came in one small exhale after another, as she began to cry a little harder. She closed her eyes tight, and tried to relax. Gently, Nathan ran his fingers across her arm. Leaning in, he kissed her forehead. He wasn’t sure what to say, or what to offer his wife. Nathan wanted to be able to change this, and make everything better for her. He knew there was nothing that could be said. She had been fighting through the entire tuation with determination, and this was a small breaking point for her.Standing, he pulled his cell phone out of his pocket. Dialing the number on the back of Marcus’s card, Nathan pulled the phone up to his ear.

A high pitched voice rang through the phone as the operator greeted him. After a rather awkward conversation, she assured they would be at the house within the hour. Persuading Angelina to lie down in the room, Nathan patiently waited. Soon after he sat on the couch, a heavy knock came from the front door. A large man stood in his doorway, and behind him was a dainty middle aged woman. Without much talking, they began their job. After a few hours, and couple hundred dollars later, the restroom was spotless.Standing in the doorway, he ran his index finger along his lips. The restroom was empty, and smelled of chemicals. Taking a step onto the spotless floor, he inched his way to the window. Lifting until it reached its limit, he locked it in place. Making his way to his bedroom, he gently opened the door. Angelina was asleep, still faint sobs escaped. His heart sank seeing his wife like this, bending forward, he kissed her forehead.* * * * * * *A light buzz came from Nichole’s pocket. Pulling her phone out, she could see Hayden had sent her a text message.

‘Can you meet me at the bathroom on my hallway?’‘Of course.’ Nichole replied.

Getting out of her seat, she made her way to the teachers desk.

“Mr. Hudson, may I use the restroom.” Nichole whispered.

“Sure thing,” He replied.Taking a pass from his drawer, he quickly made out her excuse to be in the hallway. Smiling, she took the paper, and made her way out of the room. Swiftly, she made her way to the stairwell. Rushing down the steps, she bolted through the double doors. Glancing at her surroundings, she jogged through the bus loading station. Reaching the de door of the middle school, she made her way to the xth grade hallway. Hayden was standing next to the restrooms, his eyes were puffy. His lip was pulled down into a sad frown, and his breaths were short and fast. Nichole’s heart fell at the ght, and quickly she rushed to him.

As her arms pulled him in close, he began to cry. Holding him tight, she ran her hand across the top of his head.“Its okay,” Nichole tried to comfort him.Tears began to drip from her own eyes, as she listened to him cry uncontrollably.“Hayden, its okay.” She squatted.

“What do you think happened,” He fought through his heavy cries.

“I don’t know what happened honey,” Nichole brushed his hair out of his face.

“Do you think she is dead,” Hayden asked.

Nichole fell lent, the tears continued to fall, but she held her composure.“No,” she lied.

“Do you think im gonna die,” He asked.

“No, baby, of course you arent going to die.” She pulled him close once more.

It was obvious Hayden was bothered more than he had been letting on. Holding her brother tight, she listened to his cries. Her heart continued to break, as he tried to gain control.“Everything is going to be okay, and if you ever feel like you have no one, just know you will always have me. As long as im here, nothing is ever going to happen to you.” Nichole smiled at him.

Hayden forced a smile as his tears began to slow.“I love you, Nichole.” His voice was raspy, and cracked.

“I love you too,” she wiped his last tear away.* * * * * * *

“Are you okay?” Andrew asked.

“No, not really.” Dillon replied.

The two were standing by Andrew’s car.

“What happened babe,” Andrew questioned.

“Im not sure,” Dillon’s eyes watered. “This morning, my mom found my grandmother’s house coat in the restroom. There was blood everywhere, and her stuff was still at the house. We couldn’t find her,” Dillon stared at the ground.

“Oh my God,” Andrew was stunned.

“Im scared,” Dillon whispered.

The two looked into each other’s eyes, not knowing what to say.“What can I do,” Andrew questioned.

“Will you stay with me tonight,” Dillon responded.

There was a moment of lence, and Dillon reached for his boyfriend’s hand.

“Dillon, I don’t want to go back in that house.” Andrew argued.

“I need you,” Dillon replied.

Dillon began rubbing his thumb along Andrew’s. Lightly, Andrew pulled Dillon towards him. Wrapping his arms around him, he felt as Dillon placed his head on his chest.“Please,” Dillon softly cried.

With an internal battle brewing inde him, Andrew wasn’t sure of his answer. His love for Dillon outweighed his fear, and hetantly he agreed. Lifting Dillon’s chin until their eyes were level, Andrew softly kissed his lips.“I don’t deserve you,” Dillon spoke softly.

“No, you deserve better.” Andrew replied.

“That wasn’t what I meant,” Dillon frowned.

“I know what you meant,” Andrew smiled. “What kind of husband would I be, if I left you when you needed me most?”“Husband,” Dillon questioned.

Andrew didn’t answer, just smiled.“I love you, Andrew.” Dillon stated.

“I love you too,” Andrew rubbed Dillon’s cheek.

Settling in the car, the boys waited for Dillon’s blings. Their hands were intertwined on the arm rest between them, and Andrew was playing with Dillon’s fingers.

“I thought you guys got rid of the thing,” Andrew asked.

“I thought we did too,” Dillon replied.“Do you think this could just be a coincidence? Maybe someone broke into your house last night?” Andrew theorized.

“I hope,” Dillon fell lent for a moment. “I could only imagine what would be happening to her if not. What kind of things would a demon do to a person?”

Andrew didn’t feel comfortable thinking about the posbilities, and shuttered at his own experience. Still, his mind wandered. A person can hold a small amount of evil within their soul, and can do terrible things to a person. What would something who is made of pure evil attempt to do? He could only imagine the pain it would enjoy bringing upon someone. How it would strive on the desecration of the soul, and perveron of tuation. The car door opened, and Nichole loaded the younger kids into the car. Turning to smile at the children, Andrew noticed the damaged look on Hayden’s face.

“Are you okay, buddy?” He lightly shook Hayden’s knee.

Presng his lips together, the young boy nodded in lence.

“I think everything finally hit him,” Nichole whispered.

He couldn’t imagine being so young, and living through a tuation like this. Hayden had his full sympathy. All of them did.* * * * * * *

“The kids will be home soon,” Angelina stood in the restroom door way.

“Is it that time already,” Nathan asked.

She took a long look at the new decorations Nathan picked out, the shower curtain was bright, and covered in a rainbow of polka dots. The rug in front of the shower was bright blue, while the one placed in front of the toilet was pink. A green towel was hanging next to purple twin on the rack on the wall, and the toothbrush holder was full of different colors, each kid having a their own hue. She understood why he chose such fun, and bright colors, and a smile softly lit up her face.

“Thank you for doing all this,” Angelina acknowledged his efforts.

“You don’t have to thank me,” Nathan caressed his wife’s hips.“Every day, you remind me how much I need you.” Angelina whispered.

Softly, Nathan pressed his lips to her neck. Her body tingled at his touch, and her muscles relaxed instantly.“Every day, you remind me what I wake up for.” Nathan responded in a softly. “How are you feeling?”

“Im fine, just had to get myself back to normal I guess.” Angelina smiled.

“If you want to hide from the world today, no one is going to blame you.” Her husband stated.

“Ive hid enough already,” She replied. “That isn’t the way to deal with things,” Angelina convinced herself.Nathan leaned forward, and kissed her lips.

Hearing a car pull into the driveway, the two let out a gh in unison.“I have to be strong, not for myself, but for them.” Angelina spoke firmly.

The front door opened, and the sound of footsteps filled the house.“What are you thinking for dinner?” She asked her husband.

“Im thinking we order pizza,” Nathan responded with a grin.Making their way into the living room, the couple stayed close together. Seeing an extra body in the room, caught them off guard.“Hi,” Andrew greeted his boyfriend’s parents.

“Hey Andrew,” Nathan responded.

“Oh, mom, dad, I was wondering if it would be okay if Andrew stayed with me tonight?” Dillon asked.

“Umm, yeah, sure. I mean, if that’s what he wants,” Angelina was taken by surprise. She couldn’t imagine herself coming back to this house at his age.

“Yes ma’am, I want to be here for Dillon.” Andrew spoke the words with conviction.

Angelina watched as he looked into Dillon’s eyes. It was obvious to her how deep his feelings ran. It made her heart lighter to know someone cared for her son the same way Nathan cared for her. She gripped her husbands hand, and looked back at him. Flashing him a smile, she gazed into his eyes momentarily.“Would you guys like some pizza?” Nathan spoke to the group.Leighton and Hayden answered with enthuasm as Nathan began asking everyone’s preference on toppings. Watching her husband keep the children’s mind’s off their grandmother, Angelina made her way to the kitchen. Opening the liquor cabinet, she pulled down a bottle of vodka. Getting a large cup, she filled it three-fourths of the way with the vodka. Opening the refrigerator, she pulled out the gallon of Sunny-D. Filling the glass the rest of the way with the orange centered fruit juice, she tossed the drink into another cup. Seeing as Andrew made his way into the kitchen, Angelina took a large gulp of her concoction.

“How are you doing Mrs. Reese,” He asked.

“Im getting through it,” Angelina replied.

“I know it must be very hard to go through something like this, especially when it involves a misng family member. I just want you to know, that however I can help, I will.” Andrew gave a crooked smile.

“Thank you, Andrew. Im glad Dillon has someone like you in his life. Its an honor for you to be apart of this family at the moment. I wasn’t sure you would ever come back after what you experienced, Hell, you’ve gotten worse than us all.” Angelina spoke quietly.

“I love your son, and his blings. There was never any chance of me just running away from all of this,” Andrew confessed.“Youre a strong man, Andrew.” Angelina choked down another gulp of her cocktail.“You’re an unbelievably strong woman,” Andrew replied.

She wasn’t sure how to follow that, everyone around her saw her as this unnkable ship. She wasn’t sure how correct they were, but she knew regardless of how she felt about herself, she needed to make sure she was always that unnkable ship for them. Finishing off her glass of vodka and juice, she waited until Andrew left the kitchen to make her another, same recipe. Making her way to the kitchen table, she observed the family once more. She imagined how it would be if things were different, if these horrible things weren’t taking over their lives. She pictured everyone happy, enjoying a movie or playing a game together. Angelina knew she wouldn’t have a cup full of vodka in her hand, and wished she didn’t at this moment. Still, she took another p.Upon the arrival of the pizza, Angelina brought out plates and soda for the children. Bringing a bottle of wine to the table for her husband and herself, she poured two full glasses. Handing Nathan his, she expected him to comment on the amount, yet instantly he pped. No hetation. The conversation was lacking, and no one was to blame. Andrew tried his best to keep everyone in a decent mood, and Nathan attempted for a while. After a few minutes, the room was only filled with the sound of chewing. A few glasses of wine later, and the meal was over. Angelina still had her first piece of pizza on her plate, and hurried to finish the rest. Making sure no one could see how much alcohol she consumed, she waited until everyone trickled out of the room before pouring another glass.Placing the left over pizza into one box, she carefully made her way to the refrigerator. Placing the box on the bottom shelf caused her to almost lose her balance. Standing, she turned towards the liquor cabinet once more. Pulling down the large bottle of vodka, she made her way back to the table. The wine glass was almost empty, and she knew she had more of it than Nathan. As she finished off the bottle, she could hear as Hayden asked to sleep with Nichole. A tear fell from her eye, as she desperately wanted to tell her son there was nothing to be afraid of, but she knew that would be a lie. In the distance she could hear Nathan talking to Leighton about her grandmother, straining to hear, Angelina began to make out their conversation.“Where do you think she went,” Leighton asked.

“Im not sure baby, but I know we will find her.” Nathan spoke sweetly.

“Do you think she is okay,” the little girl asked.

“I know she is okay,” Nathan lied.

“If she isn’t, do you think she is in Heaven?” Leighton asked with innocence.

Nathan kissed his daughter’s cheek, unsure of what to say.“Your grandmother was a great person, and IF anything happened to her, I know she is in Heaven.” He looked into her big eyes, and smiled.

“I wish I could have told her bye, before she left.” Leighton’s voice dropped with sadness.

Nathan’s heart ached again, this time for his daughter. He wish he had those perfect words, but he knew nothing he said would make her feel better about the tuation.

“She isn’t gone forever honey, you’ll see her again.” Nathan spoke quietly.

“Can Sebastian sleep in my room tonight,” She asked politely.“Of course, are you sure you want to sleep by yourself?” Nathan asked.

“Ill be okay, Grandma wont hurt me if she comes back.” Leighton smiled.Hearing as Nathan settled her in, and called Sebastian to her room, Angelina held back her tears. Nathan appeared shortly after, and sat close to her. Placing his hand on her knee, he gave her a look. She knew he was questioning her stability. With a smile, she handed him the bottle of vodka.“What, no orange juice?” He joked.

Taking a large swig from the bottle, Nathan let out a slight roar.“Smooth,” He stated.A couple of hours went by, and Angelina and Nathan had gone through the entire bottle of vodka and another bottle of wine. The conversation between them was deep at moments, but it was the laughs that made the night worth it. Through all the pain and tears, they were still able to smile.Making their way to bed, Nathan peeked in his children’s rooms. Leighton was curled up with Sebastian, and Hayden was snuggled under Nichole’s arm. Dillon and Andrew were facing one another, and were fast asleep. Pulling off his shirt, Nathan slumped into bed. Angelina didn’t even bother to undress in any way before climbing in next to him, within seconds they were both dead to the world. * * * * * * *

A

light scratching noise rang through Hayden’s ears, moaning he fought to stay asleep. He could hear as Sebastian’s nails brushed against the carpet. A slight scratch at the door made Hayden’s eyes open.“Sebastian, shut up!” He whispered loudly.Leaning over the bed, he couldn’t see the dog. The door began to close, as if someone had just left the room.“Sebastian,” Hayden called in a whisper.

Slowly climbing out of bed, Hayden made his way to the door. Gripping the handle, he paused. Leighton’s voice rang through his head, as he remembered she had asked for him to sleep with her tonight. His throat became dry, and felt as if cotton balls were rubbing against each other. There was a faint light coming in from the cracked open door, and as Hayden slowly began to pull the door towards him he could see a nightlight plugged into the wall.Attempting to swallow, but having no saliva, he started to peek out of the room. Looking towards his parents door, he could see only darkness. Cautiously, he began to turn his head towards the living room. As each bedroom door inched out if his vion, his heart gained in speed. Staring at the end of the hallway, he wasn’t able to make anything out. Convincing himself he had just heard the noise in his sleep, she started to pull his head back into the room.

A figure caught his eye, as it danced into the dim light. A thin, and frail looking creature stood close to the wall. It was standing on all fours, its back to Hayden. Its bones could be seen through its stretched, leather like skin. Its legs were only inches around, and its feet resembled the hands of a thin, ckly human. Hayden’s heart stopped, and his breath was hard to catch. A slight gasp escaped his throat, and the creature’s muscles tensed up. Slowly, it began to turn its neck. As its face came into the light, Hayden shook with fear. The blank, featureless face stared at him. No eyes, no mouth, nothing. Hayden could tell it was able to see him, even with lacking the necessary features to do so.Jumping back, Hayden slammed the door shut and crawled into bed with his ster. With the covers over his face, he cried quietly to himself. A light scratching came from the door, sending his nerves into shock. Hayden became extremely cold, and shivered from fear. A light click, of the latch meant the door had been opened. Hearing as something crawled on the floor, Hayden began to nudge his older ster.“Hayden, quit moving.” Nichole spoke through her sleep as she rolled over. After a few seconds of lence, Hayden slowly began lifting the covers from his head. Shaking, he fought to bring the fabric down as slow as he could. Centimeter at a time, the room came into view. His heart was beating out of control, and his fear was reaching an intolerable level. Finally, the cover was at his chest. Conjuring up the last bit of courage, he peaked over the edge of the bed. To his relief, nothing was there.Lying back on his pillow, he could feel his breath coming a little eaer. Wiping the tears away, he attempted to forget what he thought happened. With his heart returning to its normal speed, he closed his eyes. A light click came from the door again, caung Hayden to burrow under his ster. Clinching his eyes shut, he refused to move. * * * * * * *

Feeling her eye lids burn, Angelina strained to keep them open. Her husbands face was lit up from the moonlight, and close to hers. Letting out a deep gh, she attempted to get comfortable once more. Trying to figure out what woke her, she pushed her head into the pillow and attempted to fall back asleep.A light pressure began on her de, and slowly made its way over to her stomach. She could feel as a hand pressed against her lower abdomen. Opening her eyes once more, she could see Nathan was still asleep. Attempting to turn around, she felt the grip of the arm tighten.“Angelina,” Diane’s voice rang through her ears.

“Mom,” Angelina spoke in disbelief.Again, she tried to turn, yet the grip tightened even more.“Mom, let me see you.” Angelina spoke in excitement.“No,” She snapped.A chill ran up Angelina’s spine at the word, and she could feel something wasn’t right. Ung the last bit of strength she could muster, Angelina attempted to turn once more. Breaking the grip, she became face to face with a hideous ght. With a loud, blood curdling scream, she leaped over her husband.

“Nathan,” She screamed in fear. His reaction matched hers, as he was quickly by her de. The bed was stained with blood where the creature laid. Its body was mangled, and looked to be inde out. Its face was almost gone, and it twitched in pain. Its eyes were streaming with tears as it looked at Angelina.

“Help me,” Diane’s voice rang through her head once again.

Angelina began to cry uncontrollably, as she fell to the floor. Nathan rushed to his phone and quickly dialed nine-one-one.“Help me,” Diane screamed in pain.Angelina could hear as the children’s doors begin to open, and Diane began to scream more and more. The screams were horrible, and made her flinch with every screech.“Mommy,” Leighton’s voice could be heard in the distance.

“No,” Angelina screamed.Quickly she rushed to the door, slamming it shut. Falling to the floor once more she began to cry even harder. She couldn’t let her kids see this, it was too gruesome. Hearing a light thud, Angelina pulled her legs to her chest. Diane’s hand appeared from behind the bed, as she pulled her dying body forward.

“Help me,” Diane moaned once more.Slowly the body inched towards Angelina, its hand stretched out, reaching for her.* * * * * * *

Rushing to the hospital with Nathan, Angelina couldn’t keep her emotions under control. Her back was covered in her mother’s blood, and she couldn’t understand how she appeared in their bedroom. Her mother’s mangled body flashed in her mind, over and again. She looked as if someone had chewed on a piece of meat, and spat it out. She couldn’t imagine what pain she must have been going through. The screams still haunted her memory, as she pictured her mother reaching towards her.Rushing into the emergency room, they were quickly told where to go. Hallway after hallway, they seemed to never reach the destination. Finally, a doctor stopped them as they neared the intenve care unit..“Are you Mr. and Mrs. Reese?” He questioned.

“Where is my mother,” Angelina barked. The doctor glanced at the floor, letting out a short gh.

“Where. Is. My. Mother.” Angelina cried out in anger. She knew the moment he looked away what was about to be told. She could feel as her heart broke in two, and her knees began to give out. Thankfully, Nathan had a tight hold on her.

“Your mother was misng a few of her internal organs, as well as eighty percent of her flesh. The peculiar thing is, there was no incion. No stitches, nothing.

Her body had been fighting for quite some time to stay alive, and im amazed she made it as long as she did. Im sorry to inform you, that she passed away just minutes before you arrived.” He spoke as kindly as he could.

Angelina began to cry, her thoughts were jumbled as she attempted to make sense of the tuation. Her mother was gone, and she still has no answers of what happened.
