I knew about it for a long time but I was trying to find pics of the rotted mask from rob zombies halloween so I decided to gn up. I browsed the forum for a long time before that. I don't know why I never gned up.

I found the Gallery when searching for pictures of the CGP Phantom I bought when I started collecting. Found my way to the forum and joined, thinking it would be a good way to educate myself.

It was and I found out my Phantom was a cheap recast.Lee

You know, I'm not so sure exactly how I found the te... but man am I glad I did. Before I found it... I was always searching for things that had to do with Halloween, so I'd say I came across it that way. I had no idea, before MM.net, that there were so many great masks available... or that there was a te dedicated to them and the man himself. lol. I'm proud to be part of the family.

I made my way to M-M.net from the OHMB through the mask thread. I too was looking for

a higher quality mask than what I had previously owned. -G.

It was my understanding that it meant MM.net... but I could be wrong (as I am frequently). Anyway... it doesn't matter.

actually guys it is fine to start putting stuff in here. We just need to throw up how many votes an item needs to get, etc. Feel free to start throwing stuff in here.

Horror Domain - Cursed Evil Overlord Saturday 12/27/2008 at 03:58 PM | 29526
I say a peice should only need 50 "Yes" votes before it becomes part of the Hall Of Fame.

But if it makes it to 50 votes that says No before it gets to 50 that say yes, It should be removed from the list an never make it in the HOF...

Thats my idea... May be a good one or a dumb one, but thats it... lol...

RULES AND DETAILS COMING SOON..."RUUULES...WE GOT RUUULES AROUND HERE"

I like the idea of 50 votes in or out. Good suggestion Ryan.

wait a minute! WAIT A DAMN MINUTE HERE! Did Yukon just give Harry Warden props? Guys I think we may be onto something here. When you two start agreeing I know were headed in the right direction!

Horror Domain - Cursed Evil Overlord Sunday 12/28/2008 at 06:29 AM | 29650
Ryan, you're still a pussy. (Can't let that stuff go to his head

I like the 50 nonetheless.
Myers31TKD Sunday 12/28/2008 at 06:45 AM | 29655
LMFAO!!! I must admit, it was strange seeing Lee agree with me...BUT IT FELT DAMN GOOD!!!

I'm just glad you guys liked the idea!

Without having the in or out part of it, there would just be a billion cazillian masks on here and way to many to keep track of... thats how I looked at it...

kool deal! --Ryan

Okay my pictures suck but someone else who has them needs to put up tarman and lewis's freddy for voting cause both are just awesome

;)
kweandee Monday 12/29/2008 at 02:21 AM | 29758
I guess I should wait until the official rules are posted, but I have a question.

Are we voting on the particular copy of the mask that's posted or the mask line in general?

There are sometimes variances between masks made by the same creator, not to mention special editions, custom paint, repaints, and collaborations.
Snoballz Monday 12/29/2008 at 02:37 AM | 29762
I assumed the mask line not the person's particular copy. Wouldn't special editions, etc be degnated as such? So then really it would be a seperate mask and could be listed seperately no? at least that's how I thought about it....lol
kweandee Monday 12/29/2008 at 03:04 AM | 29768
great question ballz! It is the actual item not the personal copy that makes it in.

Example: Someone submits a clasc Warlock for voting.

anyone can then follow up with there own pics of a clasc Warlock. Once that mask reaches 50 votes the Clasc Warlock goes into the Hall of Fame.

Now that does not mean that the Warlock S.E. makes it in or the Blood Tears, those would have to be submitted for voting separately.

Great question and hope this helps....

Horror Domain - Cursed Evil Overlord Monday 12/29/2008 at 03:07 AM | 29769
All this time I've been thinking it was for the particular mask.

Thanks for the clarification.
Snoballz Monday 12/29/2008 at 03:20 AM | 29775
we will also include the name of the member if it gets the 50 votes along with pictures of that owners mask or prop. Something that will be kind of cool if an item you put up for voting actually makes it in.
Horror Domain - Cursed Evil Overlord Monday 12/29/2008 at 03:25 AM | 29779
hey guys, another rule that will make it into the final "HOF rules page" is that you can only post an item that you actually own. Borrowing photos from others is not permitted. Hope that helps.

Horror Domain - Cursed Evil Overlord Monday 12/29/2008 at 05:08 AM | 29804
Sounds cool!

Makes me wish to have some props next year (if the wife let me).

Great idea from this big head!
LÜCKMANN Monday 12/29/2008 at 03:20 PM | 29829
okay...is this for masks, or props....or for pretty much anything? The reason why i ask is that some of us have ren statue busts and thingsof that nature, which truly are not masks. They are not wearable, nor were they ever intended to be wearable. This is something that needs to be cleared up before we go any further. A distinction really needs to be made as to what exactly can be nominated for entry into the hall of fame. If ren copies are allowed, then model kits and 1/6 model kits will soon follow.

Also, it has been mentioned that when a mask is submitted, it is the mask in general, not a particular copy of a mask. What would happen then if someone posts a one of a kind mask?

take care, Tommy

Tommy great question and to make it clear anything horror related is welcome for voting. That is why we changed it to the Collectors Hall of Fame and not back to the Mask Hall of Fame. I expect to see plenty of masks but am look forward to ren busts, figures, etc. Anything that is HOF worthy. Hope this clarifies and start listing Tommy boy!

Exactly. Even when dealing with latex 'masks' there are a lot of pieces that were sculpted with no intention of ever being worn, but rather to be foam filled display busts. It just gets to the point where too many restrictions would exclude so many great pieces of art so we decided to open it up to anything horror related that our members own.

Before I get started on what I wanted to mention, I first would like to say to the Forum Admin and Mods, that if you do not approve of this then it's cool to delete this post and give me hell about it later! lol... However I feel you may find this to be very important as a form of a Voting Code.I just wanted to say to everyone who is voting on here. I feel it is important to base you votes on not just what you like. For instance, if you don't like the movie "Dirty Dancing" and someone posts a Patrick Swazy bust, don't vote no just because it's not your forte.

I feel it should be based on the accuracy of the Sculpt, The Paintwork, The Hairing, etc...

I also feel that historical pieces and most valuable regardless of the sculpt. There's a lot more to look at then just what you like. By bang your votes fairly, It allows artist's work to be appreciated and respected over there hard work and efforts. It also allows us the owners of these particular peices to be very proud of it!
Finally, I am not saying nobody casts there votes fairly because I am sure that the majority of you can relate and understand this. I just felt this is such a touchy topic that should be brought forth before anymore votes are placed!

Thanks All!!! --Ryan - The Warden

Hmmm

Agreed Ryan. Personally, myself did it with some masks, and it's wrong anyway. I'll think twice before give another vote now.

Thanks!
