INSIDIOUS as well as INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2 have both done really well as far as the box office is concerned, and with that comes Jason Blum's curiosity in all of the possible ways that the franchise could go at this point in time. We do know that Chapter three is being developed, no idea if James Wan will be returning, and there is now word that Blum has been taking into consideration the idea of INSIDIOUS making the switch over to a television series.
Jason Blum was interviewed by Crave Online, and he was asked about the possibility of us seeing an INSIDIOUS television show. Here is what he had to say in response:
“I’d like to do that. I don’t think you can do that while we’re still making movies. Now Leigh is writing the third Insidious, so we have to see how far we can take the series of movies but I believe very strongly that once that kind of comes to a close you can do a series, and I think soon we’ll be in a place where you can have a series at the same time. Although right now people are too nervous to have that.”
So nothing is set in stone at this time but it would not be a surprise to see INSIDIOUS make the switch to television since other Horror TV shows are finding success these days.
INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 3 is set for release on April 3, 2015.
