Kevin Smith Set To Take On The Krampus In His Christmas Horror ANTI-CLAUS - Details Within!

Kevin Smith looks is a very busy man these days. He has been promoting his upcoming Horror flick TUSK and last year it was revealed that he has plans to do a project about a gigantic "Jesus" figure that unleashes the rapture. It is also said that Smith is working on CLERKS 3. Not long ago a project focusing on the mythical Christmas creature the Krampus was brought up. Now, fresh news about this topic is here.

XYZ Films has picked up the international sales rights to Kevin Smith's Christmas Horror flick ANTI-CLAUS. The film will be produced by Jordan Monsanto, Andy McElfresh and Jennifer Schwalbach for Smith’s SModcast Pictures, with Jason Mewes executive producing.

The film will have a few returning TUSK faces in Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez and Michael Parks. Robert Kurtzman, who is the effects master for TUSK, will also be returning to create the Krampus.

ANTI-CLAUS will center around the tale of the devil like creature the Krampus, also known as the “Anti-Claus” of Alpine country folklore. A beast that eats naughty children during the season of giving.

“When I was a kid, if they wanted to make a Christmas horror movie, they’d stick an axe in Santa’s hands,” says Smith. “In ANTI-CLAUS, we leave Santa alone and creep with the Krampus through twisted tales of holly-jolly murder, desire, desperation and despair. Just in time for the holiday season.”

Smith Continues:

“In America, we’re taught that nice kids gets presents from Santa and naughty kids get coal. But in countries like Germany, Austria, Bavaria, Romania and Hungary, Christmas is more metal than merry. Saint Nicholas brings a sack full of toys for good kids and the Krampus carries an empty bag for taking away the bad kids. I wanna see THAT Christmas movie. So rather than wait for it, we’ll make it instead.”

Principal photography begins in September.
