Big News On POLTERGEIST Remake - SHARKNADO 3 - THE RETURNED Is On It's Way!

The new POLTERGEIST movie will be a new take on the original as a family called the Bowens are struggling to make ends meet relocate to an outdated suburban home and are confronted by an angry spirit. Then the youngest daughter is kidnapped by the spirit which challenges them to band together to rescue her from the clutches of evil.

Starring in the parent roles are Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt who play the Bowens. The children of the family will be played by Saxon Sharbino, Kennedi Clements, and Kyle Catlett. Jane Adams will be portraying a parapsychologist who comes in to try and help the Bowen family.

Jared Harris will be playing a star from a television show called Haunted House Cleaners. While doing an interview with Beyond The Trailer, Harris revealed some very interesting news.

His response to what he thinks is the difference between American Horror and UK Horror:

"3D. POLTERGEIST is in 3D. This movie is not in 3D."

POLTERGEIST was filmed last fall so the addition of 3D could explain why it is taking the film so long to be ready for theaters.

It will be released into theaters on Friday, February 13th, 2015.

Syfy has decided to continue their SHARKNADO franchise as the plan is to get the film going and have it ready to debut in 2015. SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE is only a mere three months away from it's premiere date of July 30th.

SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE stars Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch and Mark McGrath.

Not long ago A&E gained the rights to the French series THE RETURNED. Now they have decided to give it a remake stamp.

A 10 episode straight to series order was given by A&E for the project. The Amercan remake will also be titled THE RETURNED.

"THE RETURNED focuses on a small town that is turned upside down when several local people, who have been long presumed dead suddenly reappear, bringing with them both positive and detrimental consequences. As families are reunited, the lives of those who were left behind are challenged on a physical and emotional level as strange phenomena begin to occur."

Carlton Cuse (BATES MOTEL) penned the first episode and Raelle Tucker (TRUE BLOOD) will be taking on the writing and executive producer duties for the series.
