Back in 2012 we were introduced to the Horror film SINISTER which was co-written and directed by Scott Derrickson. The movie did well with fans presenting us with Mr. Boogie, an evil that haunts and destroys families and consumes children's souls. SINISTER raked in $87 million at the box office.

It was recently revealed that Ciaran Foy will be taking on the directing duties of SINISTER 2. Shooting is supposed to begin in August. Now we have learned that Focus Features has set the official release date for August 21, 2015.

Scott Derrickson will still be involved in the sequel as he is once again co-writing the screenplay with C. Robert Cargill. The two worked together prior on the first film. Derrickson will also be producing along with Jason Blum. No details are available as of yet but Derrickson says that the sequel will be non predictable as well as fresh and unexpected.

Just recently we reported that Jen and Sylvia Soska are appearing together at Comic-Con along with Danielle Harris, Kane, and Hornswoggle at a duel panel of the upcoming SEE NO EVIL 2, which is directed by the Soskas, and LEPRECHAUN: ORIGINS.

Apparently looking to keep busy, the Soska sisters already have their next project lined up as they are set to direct an adaptation of the comic PAINKILLER JANE which was created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada.

"Jane centers on the titular heroine, a cop, who, along with with her best friend and partner, goes undercover into an interconnected drug ring. When her identity is exposed, Jane is tortured, which leaves her with preternatural regenerating abilities and a high tolerance for pain."

Paperfilms and Stephen L'Heureux of Solipsist Films will be producing. There is no more information available at this time on the project but with the Soskas set to direct, one can assume that it will be a solid entry that will deliver.
